WELCOME
Welcome, and thank you for visiting Mercy in Motion online. We hope that our website highlights the wide variety of ministries that we engage in here in Honduras. It is our prayer that our website will encourage, inspire and move you. Thank you again for visiting and may the Holy God of Heaven and Earth bless you richly.
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but peace in difficulties.
The Kingdom of God is not a matter of getting individuals to heaven, but of transforming the life on earth into the harmony of heaven.
True humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.
Our Vision
We believe that the door to salvation is always open to whomsoever will hear His voice and obey. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth.
Please show your support and partner with us in our mission. Nothing is as powerful as prayer.
Pioneering Churches, A unified passion
Our ministries staff comes together with Honduran local and US Based missionary workforces. Pioneering churches is a passion we love to be involved with.
We like to try new ways of reaching out to communities. Churches are spiritual ways to engage with people in a meaningful way. We are willing to step outside of traditional comfort zones and reach peoples in less fortunate areas. We embrace hard work in order to make a positive impact. Building churches often attract individuals who are seeking a fresh approach to spirituality, finding the Truth about Jesus and his disciples. Local Honduran communities become involved making them a vibrant and dynamic part of the religious landscape too. We have met many a “new” friend in Jesus while involved in community outreach programs such as pioneering.
The construction of churches has been an integral part of Mercy in Motions mission, serving as both sacred spaces for religious worship and architectural education that showcase the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the local Pastors and community volunteers.
From the towering cathedrals of Europe with their intricate Gothic spires and stained glass windows that bathe the interior in a kaleidoscope of colored light, to the humble country churches adorned with simple wooden beams and weathered stone, the process of building a house of worship is a complex and multifaceted endeavor. For Mercy in Motion, we have chosen Honduras to pioneer churches. We do not have access to many skilled artisans or special ways to glorify the Churches we build. What we have is an overwhelming amount of the country’s inhabitants asking to be saved thru Jesus Christ. This is what we build. Churches that bring communities together in Jesus name. We help acquire local building materials and construct solid buildings where none where before. In doing so we also teach construction practices not commonly used in developing countries. Always attempting to give more to the people around us gives a feeling of purpose thru Christianity that is certainly humbling and fulfilling.
Where do we start? We begin with the careful selection of a site, the church is vastly important due to its holding such a spiritual and symbolic significance for the community. The design then takes shape, drawing inspiration from local styles, religious traditions, and the unique needs and preferences of the congregation. Skilled volunteers, carpenters, and artisans work in tandem, meticulously shaping each element – from the sturdy foundations to the painting and pews – to create a space that is not only structurally sound, but also imbued with a sense of reverence and the divine. The construction of a church is a labor of love, uniting a community in a shared vision and requiring immense dedication, resourcefulness, and an unwavering commitment to crafting a sacred sanctuary that will stand the test of time, serving as a beacon of faith for generations to come. The Churches that have been structurally completed so far are always being improved. Thru art work adorning their walls to new inside areas for worship, we don’t just move on to another project…..we visit and worship with the people we grow to love. Here are some of the Churches we have completed;
