Our Mission

Mercy in Motion is an active and practical ministry of being ‘God’s hand extended’ to the nation of Honduras. We believe that the door to salvation is always open to whomsoever will hear His voice and obey. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through preaching the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ, works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are fulfilling His great commission.

Our Vision

  • To preach the whole and pure gospel of Jesus Christ to all people regardless of wealth, race, or creed so that they may know Him and the power of His resurrection.

  • To empower the local pastors.

  • To provide medical care to the poor in the extremely remote mountains and jungles.

  • To rescue street children from sexual preditors, and abusive environments.

  • To show the love of God to all.

Please show your support and partner with us in our mission.  Nothing is as powerful as prayer. As the great missionary to India, William Carey once said, “I will go down if you will hold the rope.”, Kay and I will gladly endure the life of living in a third world country if you will partner with us to spread this Good News of the gospel. ALL MUST HEAR.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Billy Graham • Author and Pastor

Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but peace in difficulties.

C.S. Lewis • Author and Pastor

The Kingdom of God is not a matter of getting individuals to heaven, but of transforming the life on earth into the harmony of heaven.

Walter Rauschenbusch • Pastor

True humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.

Water Purification

Project Jayson. It is our intent to install and service as many water purification systems as possible to schools and communities.

Medical Care

We have the capacity, through our doners, to provide examinations and medications for a wide variety of healthcare needs.

Emmaus Road

Our Ministry School, The Emmaus Road; A road to spiritual insight, is currently facilitating spiritual classes. Our initial classes have two options. Firstly,  a “weekend course” where attendees are given insight into the truths of the Bible and many other exciting tools to further Christian spiritual growth.  Second, a week long study of the same but much more detailed with attendee interaction, factual spiritual inspiration and understanding of the Christian Bible. Both current class structures house attendees in executive style accommodations which includes meals.

Feeding Children

About 450 children are being fed, approximately, 3 times per week with nutritional foods and supplies .

Founding Leaders

Paul Newby

Paul never meets a stranger and is hopelessly in love with his Redeemer. Born in 1962, he was raised on a dairy farm in NE Texas and grew up knowing what hard work is all about and learning as a young boy his second language, Spanish. When he was 20 years old he married his soul-mate, Kay, and they have 2 sons, Joshua and Caleb, and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Maddison and Adalynn. Paul has 30 years of experience as a paramedic working in MICU’S and 2 years as a rescue flight medic.

He still teaches advanced practice level paramedic classes in person and online. Paul has been preaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ since 1983. Before moving to Honduras Paul served as senior pastor at Sulphur Bluff Assembly of God for 18 years. During his and Kay’s tenure as pastors there, they were privileged to help build a new church building, and the congregation is still going strong. He and Kay began doing medical missionary work in 2011 in Honduras where they live permanently now.

Kay Newby

Beautiful inside and out, Kay is a worshipper. She also grew up on a dairy farm in NE Texas and began playing piano when she was 5 years old, and many people through the years have asked her to record a DVD of her worship. If anyone was to ever wonder what a true mother at heart looks like they would not need to look any further than Kay. Her two sons are her true joy, but her two granddaughters are her weakness. She is also an extremely gifted nurse with 20 years of experience and holding a BSN degree from the University of Texas at Arlington where she also attended Nurse Practitioner school. Before moving to Honduras as a missionary she co-owned and served as administrator an Urgent Care clinic in NE Texas.
